Bio
Biography of Jan Boyer, MA, LPCC, SEP
With a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), I have been in practice since 1980.
I am certified as a Trauma Recovery Specialist in Dr. Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing® — as well as Connective Tissue Polarity® bodywork. I also offer Jin Shin Energy Balancing and have completed Dr. Sharon Stanley’s Somatic Transformation® training.
My psychotherapy services are also informed by a 40-year practice in Hatha Yoga, Sufism, and Buddhist mindfulness meditation.
I teach Somatic Awareness at Southwestern College of Counseling in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and have provided leadership training at Delta Airlines, General Electric, Proctor & Gamble, Santa Fe Indian Hospital, the US Army, and the USDA Forest Service.
My writing includes Divorce Insights: Open Endings, a book co-authored with Reverend Mary Lou Cook about making conscious separation from marriages and partnerships, and the article “Is it Trauma or Mental Illness? Looking at PTSD in a New Light.” Well Being Journal, May 2010.
